The most enjoyable book launch for Marjorie Harshaw Robie was at Glenn "John Martin" Social Club on Thursday 6th March. Marjorie Harshaw Robie described her book launch at Glenn "John Martin" Social Club as her most relaxed and enjoyable.
She arrived at the Club with her editor Ron Donaghue and Karen Hickey & Brenda Coursey arrived shortly afterwards.
Although the number of people wasn't as large as expected, a great display of food was on show.
After mingling and chatting for almost an hour, the Chairman of the Club, Martin Murtagh welcomed Marjorie, the three Americans and all the visitors.
Marjorie then began her talk paying particular attention to the life story of John Martin and congratulating those founding members of the club, who had the foresight to name the Club after John Martin in 1931.
When her talk was ended, she received a loud round of applause and Martin Murtagh presented her and the other American  with a special 75th John Martin G.A.C. polo shirt and pen each.  Thery were really thrilled with the beautiful gifts.
Copies of the book were then on sale and Marjorie signed them.
After a delicious supper, Karen Hickey received the surprise of a birthday cake, as her birthday was the day before.
Folk continued to enjoy the company & chat until almost 10.30pm.
